Why Should I Choose a Behavior Analysis Program?

This may also be the most important information you may ever read concerning the decisions you make for your child who has an autism diagnosis.

There are LOTS of methodologies and practices, lots of drugs, therapies, and procedures that claim they are the best option for children with autism. There’s sensory integration therapy, chelation, dozens of special diets, high-hour speech language training, movement therapy, music therapy, ride-a-horse therapy, and many, many more. However, there is NO course of treatment, not one, with even a hint of the scientific literature and results that you will find in Applied Behavior Analysis.

ABA is the ONLY scientifically validated treatment for young children with autism and related disabilities. It is the only therapy built solidly on data and tested scientific principles. It is the only treatment that can SHOW you, on a graph as well as in real life, that significant social changes are being made as a result of treatment.

Other therapies will tell you they have great results. Some of them may even actually be somewhat effective. However, what they will point to as indicators of their success are stories or testimonials. They can’t point you toward the literature to support their claims, because it doesn’t exist. If someone tells you something that sounds too good to be true, it probably is. No one should be promising you a cure. Unfortunately, at this point, there is no cure for autism.

We have an obligation to you to be honest, you’ll never hear us say we’ll make the autism go away. You will hear us say that we will use the best science, the most effective tools, and ONLY tested procedures with your child.

If you want to see some of the data on ABA, please ask us. We will give you scientific research, documentation of government support, as well as examples from our own program. We’re happy to share with you exactly why we’re so passionate about your choice to make ABA the treatment of choice for your child.
