The 1st
Choice EI (Early Intervention) program is geared toward children under
age six. The goal of this program is to help a child achieve the skills
necessary to achieve mainstream kindergarten readiness. Research
recommends 40 hours a week of intensive ABA (applied behavior analysis)
therapy. Our personal recommendation is 20 hours or more. Children in
our program receiving 20 hours or more per week have made significant
gains and have achieved mainstream kindergarten readiness. While
treatment success cannot be guaranteed, keep in mind that every child can learn and we are here to help in reaching
personal potential.
1st Choice EI provides families flexibility in their choice of program. Children enrolled in this
program are required to be with us a minimum of 10 hours per week. Our
program typically provides service on a one-on-one basis.
Occasionally, a 2:1 ratio may be approved. We provide a step-up program
to gradually ready your child for a mainstream educational setting. As
a next step, we partner with local pre-schools to,
provide a transitional bridge from our program to a typical
educational setting.
For some children a mainstream education is
not a viable option. 1st Choice Academy is available to meet your
child's long-term educational needs. Your child can stay at the Academy
for their entire schooling career.
Funding sources for 1st Choice EI include
private pay, Part C / Early Steps, Sallie Mae
Tutoring Loans, Children's Medical Services, Community Based Care or
Children's Home Society program funds, private scholarship funds, and private insurance (see us for details). If you don't see your payment option listed,
please ask.
